Real Estate Entrepreneurship = Flexibility

A little over a week ago, we left home in Bend, Oregon and set out on our second annual winter getaway. We headed south to Redding, California, where we have a storage unit to store our Airstream trailer (which we named Breeze). After spending one night in Redding to get set up and moved into Breeze, we continued heading south, on our way toward the Palm Springs area.

I don’t love doing long driving days, so we kept each travel day to 3-ish hours, giving ourselves a nice, leisurely pace. We had a couple great nights along the way at Harvest Hosts—one vineyard winery (m2 Wines—very tasty!) and one vineyard where grapes are grown to become Sun Maid Raisins (RandCher Vineyards).

On Tuesday we finally made it to Indio, just east of Palm Springs, and got settled into our spot, which is where I’m typing you this email.

Jessica, Fonzie and I are enjoying the nice warm weather, the beautiful nearby mountains and palm trees. We’ll be here for a month, then heading over to San Diego for another month.

Why am I telling you this?

Because it’s thanks to entrepreneurship–and real estate entrepreneurship specifically–that we have this kind of flexibility.

Most people seem to be focused on the destination of financial independence and the flexibility it provides after you’ve reached a mythical number.

But entrepreneurship itself offers that flexibility–whether you’re on the road to financial independence or already there. My wish for you is the flexibility that real estate entrepreneurship can offer you, like it has offered us.
